As a general hint for everyone who's stuck: it's often important in which order you click on individual items. So if at first you don't succeed... try again in a different order.

Ok, I just went crazy with clicking and finally got nails in my inventory. I have no idea how though.

They are both at the right bottom. One has a blue caterpillar on it(that's the next step as well ), another sitting next to the door, on the left.
Okay, I have a crayfish in my inventory and I found the crayfish habitat, but can't put it in. I read the spoiler above, but still can't get them. I've clicked all around, different order and nothing.Found them now.

Near the tree is a backpack. Click it and it opens the inventory, which will then stay open the rest of the game.
You might not even be able to go further until you've opened it, because I don't think you can pick up the nails until you do. -

Thanks, I've got the inventory now, but I can't seem to pick up the nails, rock or planks
EDIT: I don't know what happened, but it suddenly let me pick them up :o -

Yeah, I had trouble picking up the nails, too, and I've gone through the game three times now.
But I kept clicking around until they picked up, and finally they did. -
I keep klicking around, tried pretty much every combiation of klicks available, but still am not able to pick up planks or nails or whatever.. Ended conversation with magpie and raven, but after that, nothing. no matter what I do. And seeing it's 2:30am already I might need to go to bed at some point <.<and about 30 seconds after I posted I was able to pick up the nails.. -
I just went back and played again, and I noticed that

I wasn't able to repair the barrel until I had not only clicked on the water, but had clicked on the wall across from the bridge and had read a message about needing a way to cross. I think that's a step that needs to be completed before you can build the boat. (The very first time I played, I think that might have been one of the first things I clicked, so I hadn't even noticed.)

For some reason though, I've clicked all around to take the cane and ivy leaf in those spots you circled, but all I get is "There is nothing of use over there." or a description of the cattail. .-.

Before you can take the cane,

you have to click the little blue caterpillar and move it to a safe place, then the plant will give you a cane as reward.

Got the rose and now clicking for ages on the cane like an insane idiot but nothing.
And ivy just doesn't exist
