As November ends we start to think about Christmas, so it may be a good time to start collecting the Poinsettia
needed to breed with Christmas Trees to get Christmas Stars,
Christmas Flora

Way to go, Jedi!
Thanks -
So when does it all start?
-
Not sure when it starts...have you gathered some poinsettias? You will be needing them!

Someone said it started around Dec 10th. Oh yeah I have lots of them but right now I need the gift "seeds" we find in the Wild Garden. -
It varies when it starts. There are so many different plants, and so many variants of each, that it's better to start early than late.
Maybe we need to remind them to turn it on? Or maybe they're working on something good for us!
I hope it might start today, it would fit the idea of "twelve days of Christmas" at least.
-
I know that is why I was hoping it had started by now. And it is getting close to the 12 days.

Went and searched "twelve days of Christmas". They gave me various versions of this song, which is the origin? I'm now wondering why I have never heard of this...

There is an extremely common misconception about the 12 Days of Christmas. They do not start 12 days before Christmas. The first day of Christmas actually starts on December 25th, the birth of Christ, and ends on January 5th which is the eve of the Epiphany, the arrival of the Magi. Apparently it took them 12 days travel to arrive.
That is why when I was growing up we kept our tree and decorations up until the 5th.
QuoteThe Twelve Days of Christmas start with Christmas Day and ends with the eve of Epiphany on January 5 th. The Twelve Days of Christmas dates back to English origins in the sixteenth century although the music is reputed to be French. The first publication date for The Twelve Days of Christmas (The 12 Days of Christmas) was 1780.

They are out in the wild garden. I found some a few minutes ago.

That makes sense to me. Thanks Bluheart.

Thank you for letting us know!
Btw, Blueheart, the ones in the wild are ones people have dropped. Christmas Stars can only be bred (they cannot be found wild, you breed them by breeding a Christmas tree with a poinsettia, or a Christmas Star with a poinsettia). Those seem to be the only plants available right now. Which means that yes, we can currently breed our Christmas Trees with poinsettias to make Christmas Stars, but at the moment, we can't breed trees with each other (to try to get the two bred-only variants), or breed any of the wreaths yet (to get the bred-only variant of that).
If they give us an idea when the various breeding periods end, then some of us will deliberately drop a bunch of seeds into the wild right before the whole event ends. But they haven't the past couple of events, so it's hard to say if they will give us an idea this time.

Thanks for the heads up I have yet to see a gift "seed" in the WG yet.
How often do they drop as I have not seen any of the tree seeds at all. -
Jedi: They aren't there yet. I guess you didn't see my post. The only seeds in the wild are the Christmas Star seeds, which are dropped by players who are breeding their trees with poinsettias. When wild tree seeds start dropping, we'll also have the option of breeding trees with trees; that's how we'll know when wild ones are available. (Those two things should be linked.)

All I saw was "They are in the wild garden " And I thought it meant the tree ones. Sorry just tired the last few days so I am not reading things right.
-
dang it, I have been waiting for some kind of notification about when christmas stuff would start. Now I'm 3 days late breeding stars
