I'm having the same problem: after you chose to release it, when it usually goes to your log in, it just returns you to the page where you select your destination garden and the plant remains

Yes, I have had the same problem too. I just decided to raise the plants anyway.

Not only have I not seen any change in the speed of games (faster or slower, I see no difference), but gifting, abandoning, and trashing plants and seeds are all completely broken.

We won't be able to gift on Valentine's day at this point. I do hope that a fix is at least planned on, even if it can't be implemented right away.
