I'm not sure if this is a bug or just coincidence - when I try to breed my parentless Christmas Stars the three-star variety gives me Christmas Stars, but the yellow one only produces Poinsettias.

So - shouldn't all Christmas Stars produce Christmas Stars during Christmas time ? Or is the result random and my yellow stars just had abysmal luck ?

That leaves me with exactly one parentless plant to produce bred Christmas Stars. Makes getting the breed-only variant that I'm missing quite improbable.

You can get Christmas Stars by breeding a Christmas tree with a poinsettia. That used to be the only way to get them, in fact. So, if you're out of Christmas Stars to breed, try breeding some of your trees.
