Thank you tawanda, it looks nice.
Speaking of Thuwed lineage, I have a 2gen Thuwed (the one from red stripe) gifted by my friend to me and I will make a checker for it. I will gift its offspring here once I raise a mate. And if more than one person want it, just let me know
-
I saw the lineage before it was taken (I didn't take it), and it looked nice. Neither breed is a particular favorite of mine, which is why I didn't take it.
But it was a nice lineage, and I do like looking at nice lineages, even though I'm terrible about making them.

Spring with Seasonal lineageGONE
Another Spring with Seasonal lineageYou can take both and influence them to be a pair if you want.
EDIT:I left them for hours and nobody here took them so then I posted it on DC forum. They were taken by DangerDragon.
-
I've always wanted to set up my own lineages that way, but I've always been too impatient to do it.
-
I don't like any of long lineage wider than a page so I will stop at summer.
Up to 5gen is acceptable to me, only for checkers. For prizes...well I can't get short ones. *shrugs* -
Very pretty! And I agree that they should be taken as a pair.
I will try to breed such lovely lineages once I have enough dragons. -
I've found a few lineages I really like that were AP abandons that I kept.
Here's one that I'm sure the owner abandoned, because it wasn't a lightning.
Here's another interesting one, although I think it was made in error.
And here is a VERY interesting one, although the egg didn't gender correctly. There's another I have that I got from the AP that I thought was absolutely beautiful, that was half done with rosebud dragons, but I can't find it right now.
-
Very impressive, especially the last one. It must have taken months to create it.
I found a nice one that even had a theme pattern (Sherlock Holmes characters): http://dragcave.net/lineage/Zr91G.
And only yesterday, another abandoned Mint followed me home with a short, but rather touching history: http://dragcave.net/lineage/ZDeqy.
This is really fun. -

just post in the dc thread lol Dragon Cave: Announcement Thread several of us chat there

I never thought of a lineage making a poem of the names! How very cool!
-
Actually, I've seen several of those poetry lineages, e.g. a Shakespearean sonnet and a poem by Robert Burns. Very cool indeed!
idril: IIRC, that poem has many more stanzas. You could continue it in a second (third, fourth...) breeding branch. -
I want to know how people deal with repeatation, which is quite common seen in poems but name of dragon cannot repeat.
Just got a idea: how about let's make a story lineage together?
-
Well, it looks like some of the names combine parts of poem lines in the one idril showed. That's one way to do it - just add the first word to the next line in the name, to make it so the name isn't an exact replica of another name.
I know I'm not explaining it well. Maybe I can figure out how to demonstrate it so it makes sense. I'll work on that.

-
Idril, I understand. It takes such a lot of work and patience to do this. But I like Shely's idea of building a lineage together. That way, no one would have to do all the hard work alone. Needn't be the Ancient Mariner for starters, maybe a short form like a sonnet or something like that.
Mia is right that the lines could be distributed in different ways in case some names were already taken, e.g.
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day/Thou art more lovely and more temperate or
Shall I compare thee/to a summer's day/Thou art more lovely/and more temperate or
Shall I comare thee to/a summer's day thou art/more lovely and/more temperate etc.
It's also possible to insert dashes and spaces. -
That! Thanks, you demonstrated it better than I think I would have been able to.
-
This is all very interesting - I've never seen any body make an lineage into a poem before on any site. Very cool! I will keep tabs on this thread in case you all decide to make one together - that would be neat too!
