Had no luck either, so I'm just hoping for a re-draw right now.

i'm not even sure what i would do if i won the honorable mention redraw... maybe i'd ask for a cb male silver with a cool code, since i've been looking for one for my shimmer's mate. the best thing about that would be that i wouldn't need to think of a cool name for him

Valentine breeding etc. http://forums.dragcave.net/index.php?showtopic=158640
Edit: Oooh we can bump now.

Yay, can´t wait till Saturday.
-
Yay! Managed to grab a '09 Valentine egg from the AP - I was missing that one :).
-
I know they're going quickly, but there aren't that many Valentine eggs on the AP.
I'm confused though. No limits, but you can only keep one of a clutch? -
It means no limit for previous Valentine's Dragon but for this year's new Valentine's dragon, you can only have 2 CBs.
Good luck -
I have CB Valentines from 2010 up, so if you want any particular combination, I can try to breed them for you.
-
I got up early this morning and found this beauty on the AP: http://dragcave.net/lineage/Z2z07

Yes I know about this year's. I was talking about breeding the previous years. -
Yes I know about this year's. I was talking about breeding the previous years. So I suppose the answer is there's no upper limit. But when you breed your dragon, you can only reserve one egg among the several eggs. It's the same as X-mas. If your network work very well, you might be lucky to get your children back (but actually it's nearly impossible).
Have I understood it correctly? -
The multi clutching still only allows you to keep one of your own bred eggs, the others still go to the AP. That hasn't changed, what has changed is that you can grab as many eggs from the AP or trades as you want.
Would be nice if you could keep one of your own for yourself AND one to trade, but this is still better than being limited to two per scroll. -

Surely that would make more sense? If you're allowed as many as you like, why not your own?
-
My guess it's to prevent COMPLETE hoarding. If you could keep all of your own, then none would go to the AP at all, and people who didn't have any wouldn't have a chance. This way, if your dragon lays, say, 4 eggs, you get 1, and other people get a chance at 3 of them. I think it's fair. I think the other way would cause far too much hoarding.

it's been this way since the start of the game; you can only keep one egg from any clutch you breed. given, i don't breed my commons anymore, but i remember my friend (who introduced me to dc) explaining that you can't keep all your bred eggs.
-
Yes I know this is the first year this has happened and it's only with event eggs that you ever get more than one now anyway.
I just think it would be better to let you keep your own, or a couple of them. Nobody can have more eggs than their trophy colour allows so most of the eggs would just auto abandon to the AP.
I have 2 of '09, '10,'11, '12 and '13, potentially 10 breedings giving 40 eggs (at most). Nobody has space for that many eggs. I don't even have space for two of each year. I can only have 6 in total. -
Mmmmm, with the right trades, incubates, and staggered breeding I managed to add 22 Christmas dragons to my scroll this year, and I know some of the power traders who made deals for multiple hatchies picked up far more. So I do think there would be quite a bit of hoarding if people were allowed to keep more than one of their own eggs. As hard as it is to catch holidays this year I think it would be even worse if that were to happen. Next year i think we'll see the holiday APs a lot easier to catch.
~Wondering if it's just me, but at C'mas it seemed to me the older dragons produced smaller clutches, and the newer breeds had bigger clutches, anybody else notice a pattern like that?
-
I guess that's becuz people who have older Xmas dragons are basically less than who have new Xmas dragons. DC didn't have that much users on year2009. Besides, some of them are AFK,which made the number of owner even lower.

I usually have no problem with keeping only one egg. I usually keep none of my own, because I like some diversity in lineages and it prevents accidental inbreeding. It´s only annoying when you have to gift a dragon's offspring to multible persons and can only give one egg a year.... but oh, well, that´s the game.
And like Tawanda said, with a bit of planning and timing you can get quite a lot of eggs. I got 27 X-mas dragons last year and now for Valentine I plan on getting all the 25 dragons I still need for my scrollgoal, and I dare say I´ll make that. :)... and if not, I´ll get them next year. I´m in no hurry.
