So, Lori, how's your rose breeding coming?
-
I still have only one orange (got it with trading) and no lilac with white. But i have tons of white roses.

Check your PM's!

My first 3 bred roses just matured and I got one lilac-white and one black.

Yay, good for you!!! -
Does anyone have any advice on how to breed a black? I have been breeding roses since they were released, and for some reason the black color refuses to breed. I want to breed it myself (not get someone else's rose), but is there a trick to it? I've looked at the blacks of others, and they don't seem to require any particular lineage, but maybe I'm missing something.
Any advice? Or do I just have to keep trying?
-
I guess it's random so you just need to keep trying. I've also waited very long for my first black one, got two violet-white ones before I got one black.
-
I've gotten 4 of the lilacs, and numerous of all the others, and still no black. It's just getting a little frustrating is all.
Although, since the rose is my favorite flower, I think I will continue to breed them anyway, even after I get a black. So it isn't that bad for me.

it is random. My first two bred roses were black and I got lots of different colours before I got a lilac/white one.
-
It's random. But is the probability of all colours for bred flowers the same?
-
It seems so - I've done some counting several pages before and the probability to get each colour was around 1/8. Of course, 40 or 50 plants is not really enough to do statistics.
