Do I have to breed to get all variants?

Hi,

I wonder, if I have to breed to get all variants of a plant?
Because I am missing for example the black rose or some variants of the crocus or of the saintpaulia...

Yes, some varieties of some plants are bred-only - black and purple-white varieties of roses of example. Also some varieties of Christmas rose, Flaming Katy and bow string hemp. But as far as I know, all crocus and saintpaulia varieties can be found in the wild. The bred-only varieties seem to be a recent invention.

So I have to try to get a black rose and some other missing plants by breeding... I hope, this won't take too many trials

This is the realistic part of the game, you'll never know what you really get from a seed. In life you even don't know
