Well, as it seems, not all bred roses turn alts - we got two "normal" roses so far.
Rose Breeders' Club: Let's find those elusive breed-only variants :)

Not quite ready to start breeding yet but I simply love the lilac.

Looks like the bred ones can turn any color... This makes getting alts more difficult, but on the other hand gives us more possibilities for pretty lineages
The one I'm planning will look like a pyramid, with different colors for different generations This will require A LOT of blood swapping, I guess
And I'm going to start "purebred" lineage as well (will try to get all generations in one color)!Btw, all added

Good Luck You will need a lot of patient. -
Hahaha yes that's for sure It sounds like gifting a lot of flowers before I get the ones I want
Edit: My first bred rose is not an alt, but it meets my "color-layer pyramid" project requirements http://flowergame.net/lineage/69462

I'm not sure I understand what you're going to do, Lori. Do you want a different color on each line or layer? (Not sure what to call them.)

Yes, tru, different color for each generation, e.g. first gen pink (bottom layer), second gen orange (2nd layer) and so on -
My first bred rose turned out to be one of the lilac/white alts - very happy with this result. Now I'm waiting for the seeds to sprout so that I can continue breeding .

Lori: Gotcha'!
RedSquirrel, mine must have been a regular color since that's all I have in my garden. (I'm too lazy to go looking for it. )

Here in my signature are three bred ones from today if there are needed some more.
-
Not many alts so far.
-
So far we only have 22 that have grown up so it's still a pretty small sample, but here's the current ratio based on that:
Purple - 6 (27%)
White -4 (18%)
Black - 4 (18%)
Yellow - 3 (14%)
Bicolor Purple - 3 (14%)
Pink - 1 (4.5%)
Red - 1 (4.5%)
Orange - 0 (0%) -
So one third alt and two thirds normal.
-
-
Red - 0 (0%)
You can change that to "1" since mine just had a red one.
Also, for anyone looking to fill a seed slot - I just bred two roses thinking I had an open slot, but I didn't so it went to the Wild Garden. Hope someone finds it! (I had two sprout slots open - I get confused easily. )

So one third alt and two thirds normal.
Well, the sample is still small, but if there are 8 varieties of roses (which seems probable now, as no third alt has shown so far) and 2 of them are alts, it seems pretty close to normal random statistical distribution.
