Now I need a distraction. I've been clicking on the entire screen, but nothing is helping.

Ah...I see. You haven't finished the dialog... So finish the conversations with Magpie and Raven first.

Still can't get the "hammer." I've clicked on them many times and all I get is "There is nothing of use over there."

You must have seen the message (by clicking the broken bridge), which I can't remember the exact words by the like:the bridge is damaged blablabla... then click on the barrel. It will say there's a hole on it, otherwise it would be a perfect boat. Click the barrel again(Maybe by the way I also click the planks). And the message 'I can repair the barrel with them' appears. Then the prompt says 'Now, I need to attach the planks'... So after this appeared, repeat what you've done for the last half an hour.:p

I'm not getting those messages with the barrel or the planks.

@CharlotteRose Have you finished the conversations with the Magpie and Raven?

Nope. But I clicked on the stream and got 'the stream is heavy' as well.
