I'm fairly sure I don't have the one marked with a cross in my greenhouse, or ever did, because I've been looking for it since last year.
Is there any way to trace if I did have it and gave it away by mistake, thinking it was one of the other similar ones? If I did it wasn't this year.

That's not what blobber is asking about. She wants to know if there's a way to know if she accidentally gave away the Christmas tree she had with the light red ornaments, and if so, how to trace where it went. She doesn't remember giving it away.

If I did give it away, I'm not asking to get it back, I'm just curious and will kick myself
but I still have a chance of raising another this year, or trading if I don't. -
I have a hard time telling these Christmas trees apart, but if this is the one you want, please just let me know and I'll send it right over, OK? (I know that doesn't answer your question, but I'm delighted to do it if you so desire. ^^)

You know, I gave a Christmas tree away earlier this year (much earlier) not realizing there was a difference, either. Fortunately I think I got another one of that type this year in my new seeds!

Well I did give it away, technically, but the silly thing is that I took it on the adoption thread, and put it back because I thought it was the same as I already had.
