"Only healthy, mature plants you own can be used for breeding. Even then breeding is only possible if the plant hasn't produced any seeds for the last 7 days."

So what is meant by healthy mature plants? I have fully grown plants since over a fortnight and that message appears on all of them. How do you know if it's produced seeds?

Any adult plant in your garden can breed, as long as you have another flower it will pair with.
It won't breed by itself, though - you have to click the "Breed" option on the flower and then choose which other flower to breed it with.
Also, if you want to keep the resultant seed, you have to have less than three seeds currently.

I don't have the option on any of them. Do you have to have two of the same species? No hybrids or grafting? :)

You need two of the same species.

If you breed two Christmas Cactus of different colours, if successful is there a chance of getting a completely different colour or will it be the colour of one of the parents?

The Flowergame-Wiki says the color generates totally random when the flower grows up.

Yes, that's right, colours are completely random.
