Jack-o-lantern/Halloween

this will be my first halloween here...will breeding be the *only* way to get the jack o lanterns? thanks!

in the saison you can find the jack o lantern in the wild garden. The rare chance to breed is a extra way in the saison. You can try all two ways.

But some seeds might appear in the wild garden, if someone breeds their jack-o-lantern and then abandons the seed, am I right?

Du sagst es, Lorimmel. Ich hatte keine scharfe Trennung zwischen der neuen und der alten Halloween-Pflanze erwartet sondern random. Offenbar wird die neue Pflanze einen eigenen Namen bekommen? Dann wird man nur die neue Pflanze sammeln. Sie könnte ja Variationen haben. Die Länge der Saison sollte also nicht zu knapp sein.

sry Lorimmel, my English is not good. I Mean sharp separation between Jack-o'lantern and the new one. (It's the sama as sharp separation between Geranium and Rice button aster... and so on). Now I think, we'll get a new Halloween-spezies. But before I thought, perhaps we'll get a random results between different Jack-o'lantern types.

Ach, wie eine neue Variante von Jack-o-Lantern? Jetzt verstehe ich Aber ich glaube, wir bekommen eine ganz neue Species. Deswegen fragte ich, ob die Jack-o-Lantern Saison und Neue Pflanze Saison überlappen oder nicht.

... und deine Spürnase war offenbar richtig. 24.10. bis 1.11 entspricht genau einer Aufzuchtzeit. Danach ist nicht mehr Halloween. Wir können also 6 Pflanzen aufziehen. Zu erwarten ist, dass (fast) alle 3 neue Pflanzen aufziehen. Wir erfahren aber normalerweise erst am Ende der Saison, ob wir mehrere Versionen bekamen. Man wird also dazu neigen, 6 neue Pflanzen aufzuziehen. Geht die Campagne für Jack-o-Lantern über den 1.11. hinaus, haben wir eine solide Chance. Grundsätzlich könnte 1 Tag genügen. 2 (besser 4) Tage Verlängerung wären sehr praktisch. Bin jetzt echt gespannt, was wird.

Wobei sich mir die Frage stellt ob die Chance größer ist ein Jack'o'Lantern zu bekommen, wenn die Eltern auch Jack'o'Lanterns sind. Oder ob die Chance bei normalen Kürbissen genauso groß ist.

I think I remember Exterminans saying somewhere that rare x rare is impossible, rare x regular = better chance at rare and regular x regular = smaller chance at rare. If I'm right, this would mean you cannot breed two Jack-o-Lanterns together, but you can breed Jack-o-Lantern to regular pumpkin (better chance at Jack-o-Lantern), or regular pumpkin to regular pumpkin (smaller chance at Jack-o-Lantern, but it's possible to get one). But don't take my word on this, I cannot find it at the moment. Maybe later when I have a bit more time

Lorimmel is right, I found a quote from Exterminans about the Biting dandelion. Maybe this is transferable to the Jack-o-Lantern:
