And the list grows...

MiaSkywalker:
Three are great ! Best of luck with the bred one, I hope it turns into a bred-only for you.Shelybear:
Hmmm, that's a beautiful picture you painted there... During a full moon it might very well look exactly like that.

Added all to here.
Shelybear:
It is French and means "Knight of the Lily". The lily being the symbol of the French kings, a heraldic symbol in general (Fleur-de-Lis) and a flower (since, well, this is a game about flowers) seemed fitting to me. As for the knight, well, I imagined my garden as an enchanted one, in the middle of some mysterious forest, with some beautiful lady tending to it and a knight to guard it (and her, of course).
And the wording... - the really important things I copy-pasted from your post.

MiaSkywalker:
Yes, this one is for parentless plants only. But grown ups are accepted as well - as long as you are sure that they came from the wild garden once. So you could probably post some of those that you already have.
I'd be fine with a bred-only experiment in conjunction, but since this isn't a holiday plant it might be better to do them separately. (Since you can use your pot(s) only for one experiment or the other it could stretch the duration of both if you do them together. I wouldn't mind, personally, but I wanted to point it out.) -
Shelybear:
Congratulations on having battled through your exams so far ! Best of luck for the next one as well - I'm sure you can beat it !
In the meantime I took the liberty to open the experiment for the Flaming Katy. I hope I can live up to your standards... -

Experiment 3: Flaming Katy (Flammendes Käthchen, Kalanchoe blossfeldiana) - Result: Confirmed! Variant 2&3 are breed-only. -
Greetings, everyone !
Since Shelybear is valiantly fighting the many-headed exams-monster while still trying to ride as many witch brooms as possible, I decided to help out a little. That's why I hereby open the next experiment, and proudly present
The Gathering of the Flaming Katys !
(Usually I'd welcome Burning Katherines, Sparking Kates and Smoldering Katrinas as well, but since experiments have to operate very professionally, it has to be Flaming Katys only.)The purpose of this marvellous adventure is to confirm (or negate) the information in the wiki article about which variant(s) of this flower is/are bred only, and which one(s) is/are not.
Here are the rules, as they were laid down by Shelybear:- Go to the wild garden and grab some parentless seeds for the Flaming Katy and grow them.
- Post the plants (please provide BBCode) here and I'll add them onto the list. 50 specimens will be tested (more if we get to that number in a short enough amount of time). Existing and already grown ones will count as well, as long as they are parentless (and came from nowhere else but the wild garden).
- If none of the parentless specimens are grown into 'bred-only' variant, then I'll consider the information confirmed.
- If one of the parentless specimens is grown into 'bred-only' variant, the information is incorrect. Please provide the link of that plant.
Some of you might have been around here for a long time (and maybe have already seen enough specimens to confirm that) but...just take this as a game ! I'm not asking you to fill all your pots with the same plants, but if you can try as much as possible, that would be awesome ! Thank you in advance !

No more from me. My next-to-last batch of bred ones made a giant effort and turned to bred-onlies all three !
Would've tried another round, but the event was over. (With the exception of the seeds that still fly around in the wild garden, but I only found parentless ones there.) -
Shelybear:
How about this: I wish you the best of luck for your final exams !
-
I certainly hope it will keep with us for a good, long while - my statistics so far are abysmal, and I'd like to improve them. (So far, out of 16 grown Mushrooms total, 6 are Hats and 7 are Purples... Hrmph ! As for the bred ones: 5 grew up so far - 4 Purples and one Hat.)
Three more tries:
Witch Hat + Blue -
Shelybear:
The good wishes helped - finally a Blue one ! Thank you ! (The other one grew up to be yet another Hat, though...)
Hope springs eternal, so I picked up one more:
-
-
With the two that are still kettles this leaves me three chances to finally get the parentless blue mushroom that I'm still missing. (Got three parentless Purples and four Hats, one Red, one Snail, but no Blue one.
I mean, the Hats are my favourite, but still... Wanted to collect at least one of each variant by myself. And out of 12 grown mushrooms having 10 that belong to only two varieties is kind of boring...)Shelybear:
Adding the current plant into the title sounds nice - but would it fit in there ? -
I'm running out of MacBeth/witch-related comments. Probably to everone's big relief. So, without much further ado about nothing:

Shelybear:
How about skipping the Dandelion for the moment, and finishing the plants with less parentless versions first ? That way we can verify the easier things before starting those experiments that will take more samples and time. The "Flaming Katy" could be tested with 50 samples. After that we could move to the Hyacinth, that will need more samples, because there are 2 parentless versions (75, maybe, so 50% more ?)
And then... Well, if it is true that you can get a parentless Biting Dandelion from the Post Pixie, it wouldn't be possible to accept parentless samples that grew up before the experiment starts, because of the risk of people not remembering where they got theirs (Wild Garden or Pixie). Participants would even have to be careful/watchful during the experiment, due to the way that parentless pixie seed is acquired.
Because of that, I'd recommend doing the Rose before the Dandelion. There may be lots of parentless versions (6, right ?), requiring a much bigger sample base, but at least here we could use plants that grew up sometime before the experiment, as we did with the Christmas Rose and could do with the Flaming Katy and the Hyacinth as well.(Of course, the use of older samples is based on the assumption that the suspected "breed only" variants weren't released significantly later than the parentless ones, that goes for the Christmas Rose as well as for anything else. Could anyone who has been around for some of those releases confirm or negate that ?)
