Chevalier: Then that's new. In the past, you always had to breed them. Every single one of the Christmas Stars in my garden have been bred.
That actually kind of disturbs me, that now they can be caught wild. It sort of destroys the whole idea of how they have always been, and in a way, it punishes those that have been in the game for years. I do not like it at all.

Perhaps this parentless one is a new variant, and the older ones will stay breed-only. That way the old ones could keep their special place.
    -----------------------------

Last year I collected the following parentless christmas seeds:
    1 x , 2 x , 3 x , 3 x
    missing: and

    1 x , 2 x , 5 x
    missing:
It was already mentioned that the burning tree, the palm tree and the angel wreath are probably breed-only. What about that pink/blueish christmas tree ? Is that breed-only, too, or did I just miss it by chance ?

Witches did cackle and ghosts did moan,
shadows did move and spirits did roam,
the sun and the moon, they shivered and fled,
and deep in darkness these things were bred:

(I'm afraid I may have butchered some tenses up there, but hey, it's a Halloween theme, butchering is expected to happen at some point... :saint: )

The ghosts have gone and the shadows aren't that deep anymore, but the ominous mists of the other realms are still swirling through my garden, unveiling strange things when lifted by the chilling breezes:

    Jord:

If you click "Continue" there (right beside the "defeat the wizard..." text) you will get your next leads.

    Display Spoiler

"Defeat the evil wizard and we will be redeemed." -> click "Continue"
"Where do I find him?" -> click "Continue"
"On top of the highest tower." -> click "Continue"
"And how can I beat him?" -> click "Continue"
"Ask the raven, he has long observed him and know his weaknesses." -> the wizard appears in the tower, click the raven, then go through his dialogue with "continue" and carry on

I hope that helps. If you need any more tips, just ask. :)

And here comes my (quite modest) share of fragrant flowers:

    froglady:
That figure of speech is good thinking. But if repeated gifting/trading was what it takes, then why do we have these two things:
    1. agajol says the potato was already "hot" (in Shely's garden) when they took it
    2. Take a look at my second post, Theory IV. There is a potato that was traded repeatedly without turning "hot". Maybe the times between the changes of owner were too long ? (The mystery potato changed gardens quite fast.)

    Welcome, Apothecaria !

Yes, the Treasure Hunt has some not-so-intuitive parts in it, the crossing of the river being the worst of it (in my opinion).
I'll give you a start, if you get stuck once more, just ask again.
    1. Click the big tree on the left, then click yourself through the dialogue between raven and magpie - it tells you to talk to the magpie, so click at her
    2. She'll want something glittery. Pick up the bag under the tree and see what's inside.

    Display Spoiler

Chocolate paper is glittery... Clicking the chocolate will unwrap it.

    3. Give the magpie what she wants by clicking on her, then listen to her advice. And to the raven's after that. He'll want something.

    Display Spoiler

You have to click on the chocolate bar in your bag now, to realize that it will do the trick.

    4. Click the raven again to give him what he wants and listen to his (quite obvious) advice.
    5. Click the castle. Then the bridge. Then the barrel. And then the stuff lying around that you deem useful. The exact sequence is the key here, because for some bizarre reason you don't get to pick up the things if you click on them first.
Then be on your merry way, and let me know if you need further help. ;)

And on a completely different note: Shouldn't the translation of the texts be revised ? I always played this in German, but went to English to get the right vocabulary for my advice. Some things are just plain wrong. For example the German "vielleicht/eventuell" (meaning "perhaps/maybe/possibly") was translated into "eventually" (which sounds a little like the German "eventuell", but means "over time/at some point in the future")... Which could be a little misleading. (At least I guess it was translated in that direction, because it looks like one of those "false friends" mistakes.)

Thanks to everyone for the help so far !

    Alia:
Hm, that theory sounds interesting. It surely would explain why nothing else has worked so far. The only thing that bothers me is why Shelybear's potato changed appearance once it left and re-entered her garden. But an experimenting admin probably explains that as well...

    Updates

Theory III: number of potatoes raised so far

    truelinor: 7, all parentless
    MiaSkywalker: 15, all parentless
    idril: 20, bred and parentless
    Mimmu: 30, bred and parentless
Alia: 36, most of them bred

    Theory IV: gifting/trading the plants

Here is the history of the one existing Baked Potato:

And here are other trades/gifts that were done:

idril: gifted a few plants away, exchanged a potato with various members
    Jedi: traded a few plants
    Mimmu: gifted some plants

    Examples:
    Mimmu -> Jedi
    Mimmu -> Jedi -> EmeraldsLyn -> Jedi -> EmeraldsLyn -> Jedi

So far - no further baking.

    New Theory by Alia:

My theory - the appearance of this one baked potato was a glitch (perhaps our admin was testing something?) and in fact there will be an event in the nearest future when we will be able to get a baked potato. Maybe something connected with the beginning of autumn?
