Wow, I was trying to grab one last egg from the AP after I had a hatchling grow up, and I keep running across what appear to be eggs from someone who has no idea what a lineage is. One parent will have an absolutely beautiful lineage, and the other parent will then ruin it.

My examples all show the Valentine parent with the nice lineage, and the other parent CB (destroying the nice lineage), but there are a few I have found that are the opposite; a CB Valentine mated with a mate that is third or even fourth gen. Like, whoever had dropped all of those eggs (and the AP is flooded with them at the moment) was randomly selecting mates without even trying to see if the lineage was compatible. It irritates me a bit, because it's not really all THAT hard, and this flood is making it so I just spent an hour trying to find one that wasn't absolute crap. It's already 4am, and I really don't want to stay up even later trying to find a decent egg, so I'm annoyed with whoever did this. I'm betting they're all from the same user. It seems that everyone else who is trying to get eggs right now is re-abandoning these like I am, so the same ones keep cycling through.

Fortunately, you get the badge just for starting it, and you don't lose anything by not finishing.

Yeah, I had the same rotten luck with my first three breedings, then I started getting HoVs after that. I had thought the breeding part of the event might not have been turned on, at first.

You can also breed two bleeding hearts to get an HoV. My recollection (which may be wrong) was that in past years, you were pretty much guaranteed an HoV if you bred HoV with bleeding heart, but you had a much smaller chance to get an HoV if you bred two bleeding hearts.

I had to trash several bleeding heart seeds when doing my breeding, because you can only abandon a certain number.

From there you'll have other choices. But I really wish I could figure out what the horse was all about. Does anyone know? I tried RIDE HORSE and it said I couldn't do it. I've tried other things, but either nothing happens, or it says I can't do that. It sort of seems like the whole game is very linear.

Oh, you might have been right about that. If so, I don't remember where I found the first part of the letter now. I think my memory is going.

Btw, did anyone ever figure out what to do with the HORSE that was on the CLIFF? I tried several things, but nothing ever happened. I wish I could retry the game; it would allow me to experiment some more.

several times, even stopping yesterday to try again today because that's worked before, and still only found one half letter and the honey.

I hadn't realized this game was back, so there are two post pixie gifts we can get this year. And it explains where people got the Be My Valentine!

I finished it, but I wish I could do it again, and try some different things, particularly at the end. When you encounter the dragon in your village, I was only able to figure out to do one thing, which wasn't highlighted in the text. I don't know if it was the ONLY action available, but it was the only one that I tried that did something. Most of the things I tried said something like "you can't do that" or just didn't take effect.

In TJ's news item, he said something like stealing from squirrels, but I never encountered any squirrels. I did get a promise from the Lord of the Woodsmen to help me if I needed him, but I never needed him, so I don't know what was up with that.

Once you've finished it, it doesn't let you do it again, so you can't try to figure out other options.

I have another question. I noticed that a few people have a Be-My-Valentine seed, that I presume they got from the post pixie. The seed I got from the post pixie was an HoV. How does one get the Be-My-Valentine seed this year?

It has never been random in past Valentine's events. Since we are only allowed to abandon a limited number of seeds, this doesn't seem like a very kind change to make.

Btw, I'm not finding it very random. So far I've only gotten bleeding hearts, and no HoVs. I don't feel very happy about this, and I'm not inclined to waste my breeding attempts right now, when it appears the event is broken.

I haven't picked mine up yet. Since the previous dragons are only breedable until the end of today, and the new eggs drop for three days, I figure I'll do one more batch of bred eggs before grabbing the new ones.

Btw, has anyone figured out the adventure yet? I've examined everything in the nest I can think of, but can't figure out how to leave the nest or go to whatever the next step is.

It's possible the event hasn't been turned on yet, even though it's the 14th now. Hopefully if it isn't, then any plants we've given will count anyway.

I'm wondering if maybe there's a little confusion. The news says that like in past years we will get a Heart of Valentine by gifting a flower. But for the past two years, gifting a flower has given us a Be-My-Valentine flower instead, and we've gotten HoV seeds in the garden or by breeding. We've also always been able to breed bleeding hearts to get HoV seeds during the event, but that doesn't seem to be accessible, either.

This seems like the event is going back several years, and even so, only bringing back a small part of it. It's not very fair to newer members, who don't have any HoV flowers to breed, if breeding is going to be the only way to get more HoV flowers. There are so many variants of them, that getting a single seed from the post pixie seems... unsatisfying.

I just wanted to show you guys this really gorgeous lineaged egg I found on the AP.

I personally like the way things sort now, so I doubt I'll use the new sorting method. I can see why others might like it, however, and if I had just started here, I would probably prefer doing a manual sorting. Not now, though. Too many flowers to want to have to re-sort them all.

Are the Heart of Valentine plants going to be breedable, or found in the garden? That's usually extended beyond just the one day.

What a pretty egg! I look forward to seeing what it turns in to.

Were you here when the chives and love-lies-bleeding were released? I think there was at least one other flower released since then, although I can't recall what it was.

Alia has already listed the various holiday flowers that are new.

Not sure the issue; it might be a temporary side effect of restoring the deleted gardens.
