There's a rumor on the thread that the green one may be a bred variant of the red, or something else. I only read the first couple of pages of the thread, though, so don't know if anything has been confirmed.
Dragon Cave: Announcement Thread

Oooooh! I just won a silver tinsel in this month's raffle! I'm so excited!
-
There's still no sight of the green one and there hasn't been any confimation about how to get it either.
Congratulations Mia
-
I first thought they might be a day/night variant, but I got my first batch in the morning and the second in the evening and they are still all red, so it's probably a breeding variant.
Congrats on the tinsel, Mia.

The spriter made a hint that it's a breeding variant, but didn't come out and say it. Maybe like the undine, except that you can't tell until it hatches with those. I would say like ridgewing or dorsal, except that both of those you can get cave born. (I have.)
The spriter DID indicate that it's not gotten through a BSA, when someone suggested that at one point.
I absolutely LOVE the gendered purple hatchlings!
-
The Green variant comes from breeding a Red Spinel to any of the Earth Element dragons. Here is a list of Earth elements.
-
Thanks for letting us know! I had wondered if it had been discovered, but I haven't gone back to the thread to check.
Most of those are dragon types I haven't really cared all that much for, but at least we now know what to do.
-
Congrats Mia.

The Halloween event has started on DC, both breeding, and getting "candy".
I'm not sure the purpose of collecting "candy" with your dragon, but I suppose we'll find out eventually.
-
Breeding started a few days ago, and this time they've added a new "Halloween" biome where you can get old breeds from the cave. My first chance to get a cave born Harvest dragon!
-
You use the candy to buy new costumes for your dragon.
-
Yes, but when I had posted, that information wasn't available.
It looks like you can get candy even when you're not around. I had 24 pieces when I left my house a couple of hours ago, now I have 28. So other people seeing your pet gives you candy as well.
Although not everyone is doing it, apparently, because all the rest of my candy I got by actively clicking the button. So not everyone is bothering. That's kind of sad, because it means that a few people are doing the work for many, and I'm guessing the reason they set it up this way in the first place is to make it more fun for everyone, if most people were actively doing it.

new egg: This warm egg is tangled in the roots of a dead tree.
-
It looks kinda sci-fi-y in my opinion. I like it.
-
That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw them, LN! I'm really curious what they'll grow into.
It's really nice that we can get 8 CB now, because it makes it easier to do lineages if we want to.
-
Anyone want to do a little Omen switching? All of mine gendered female, but I'd like a few males too.
-
You don't use pinks to gender them? I have exactly four of each gender. I hope someone can swap with you, though.
They'll probably be in the Halloween biome next year, if you can't. Although you probably won't want to collect ONLY that breed.
-
I forgot. I was so busy IRL that I barely remembered to snag the eggs
-
I'm not really sure that I care for this dragon. It doesn't look like a DRAGON to me; at least, I can't see any sign of it. In fact, it doesn't look like a living being at all.
Well, can't like them all, I suppose. I've liked almost all of the non-holiday releases, and the Halloween dragons don't tend to appeal to me very often. I guess it's because I tend to prefer pretty, over scary or creepy.
-
The holiday dragon schedule has been announced here.
I'm glad they're bringing the holiday biome in for Christmas, because I'm not going to be able to grab this year's (and will only be able to get a single round of eggs at all), because I'll be on a ship without internet access during almost the entire event.
At least I'll be able to get THIS year's eggs NEXT year, through the biome. That's one reason I'm glad they're doing the biome.
