Who wants to learn/teach German?
Learn German

Well, I would love to learn German, but I will probably end up trying to learn Portuguese instead since my daughter will be living in Brazil.
What were you thinking? Having lessons here on the forum?

If you have any questions you can always ask us German native speakers.
Btw, we already had a thread about learning German, but it kinda died because the thread opener doesn´t seem to be active anymore.
But you can still find some learnign tips there: How do I learn German?/wie erlerne ich Deutsches? -
Thanks, idyril. I was searching for the forums regarding the topic but found none.

In addition to what was posted on that other post, Deutsche Welle (the German TV company) has a German course for free online. If you want to buy a course, but don't want the expense of the yellow-box language courses, there's an online course that is cheaper called Rocket German. The most important thing is finding someone to speak German with. My great-grandfather spoke German, so I learnt from him until he died when I was 7. I tried to use some books to brush up in my 30's, but had no one to speak with. I kept up my skills until then mostly because I knew German speakers in my hometown--I went to high school with 3 German-speaking kids, and my Girl Scout leader was from Germany. I'm 52 now and my German skills are very rudimentary. I remember my 7-year-old German better than my grown-up German.
