I only have one from last year too, and it was from a trade. I'm hoping to get one more each of this year's and last year's. But if I don't, well, at least I have one of each.

Naw, most are pretty common, or at least common enough that I won't worry about them. I can always catch them another time.

-
Oh, crud. I just took a whole bunch of eggs. Forgot about the monthly release! Guess I'm going to be releasing all or most of them.

-
I'm glad we all have time to get more. Especially the newcomers, who will now have a chance to breed.

If my mushrooms are able to breed again before the event ends, I'll drop more into the wild.
-
@tru: I've done it in the past, but when I dropped seeds this year I did not. I did tell people that they could look at my mushrooms, search out the children, and snag them that way, however.

Oh, I see what you're saying. I don't think we should be able to put seeds on hold. The way it is, we can breed and drop for others, but it's up to the others to get them. Putting them on hold just seems too... greedy.

Here's the new mushroom. I was lucky to get one in my first batch!

Hello Lilithiana! A lot of us are in both places, DC and FG.
You'll find it isn't as frantic here, trying to get seeds as it is getting eggs on DC. There are no rare seeds (other than event seeds, which you can only get during events), so you don't have to worry about snagging a seed before someone else with a better internet gets it. It's rare not to see every non-event seed in the garden.

There are certain variants (colors) that are harder to obtain, but that's generally because they're obtained by breeding your own adults and raising those seeds. As you go, if you notice you have a ? in your compendium for a breed, you can just ask, and we'll let you know if the missing variant(s) are breed-only.
For instance, there are 8 variants of roses, and two are breed-only. So you can get them, it just takes a bit of effort on your part to do so.

There's also a give-away thread, because some members like to only have two or three of each variants, so they give away their extras. That's another way you can quickly increase the number of flowers that you have.

But it IS possible, if indirectly.
When I bred my mushrooms, the seeds automatically went to the wild. But if I went to the view of the parents, and clicked the appropriate child link, it brought me to the seed that was in the wild. Then I had the option to take it. (Although I wouldn't have been able to, as my pots were full.) I could, however, have given that link to someone else to use, and they could then have the seed.
Someone else could take the seed from the garden before "my" link was used. But that wouldn't matter, it would just mean someone else got the seed. But I think you know what I mean?
-
It automatically goes to the wild garden if all of your pots are full.
And you CAN sort of gift it. You can look at one of the plants that was the parents, then go to the children. The seed will be in the garden, and will automatically ask if you want to take it. Just give that link to whoever you want to gift it to.

I was presuming yesterday, which is why I bred and dumped the bred seeds in the wild the day before. They could be allowing it to last a day or two longer, which would be nice.

Edit: I just realized that if you are new here, if breeding/seeds ends now, then you won't have a chance at breed-only variants unless you're lucky and pick up a seed that one of us dropped into the wild. Hopefully that will make them extend it a few days, but there's no guarantee.

George, he said we would not be doing that this year.
-
That's actually a cool lineage.
Not really breedable, though - you'd have to find something similar, which would be next to impossible.I like the fact that it has all of the shimmers, golds, silvers, and golden wyverns all in the lineage.

-
I took the golden wyvern, dustpuppy, because I just LOVED that lineage. I don't mind long lineages if they are pretty in some ways, and that one was very impressive!
-
Well, I'm pretty OCD about my naming convention. (It's generation, code, gender) But suddenly I have some ideas, so I'm going to have to do a few breeding lines just to do some poems I'm thinking of!

-
Exterminans did; he said we wouldn't have to this year. Yay!

-
That! Thanks, you demonstrated it better than I think I would have been able to.
-
Well, it looks like some of the names combine parts of poem lines in the one idril showed. That's one way to do it - just add the first word to the next line in the name, to make it so the name isn't an exact replica of another name.
I know I'm not explaining it well. Maybe I can figure out how to demonstrate it so it makes sense. I'll work on that.

The bred ones give you a chance at the pink and green mushrooms. It's the only way to get those two variants.

I do have a question mark in my compendium, which means there's a new variant out this year. So the question becomes, what quest are we going to do this year to get it?
