In Final Outpost you collect different capsules and from them come different animals. You can then collect these and breed them to maybe get a certain color. In between you can also go on adventures to win certain things (e.g. to change the sex of the animal and other things). I personally like playing it because I can indulge my collecting mania and collect things without using up a lot of space. New capsules/animals are always coming out

Yes, I remember this dilemma from my first year. I didn't know what to "catch" and was more than disappointed when I realized that I still had so many question marks.
