I thought only some could be gotten by breeding the Christmas trees so that would be the reason to go ahead and breed them and send them to the wild. I just did all of mine that I could - about 5 or 6, I guess. Hope they all go to good homes.

Oh, I sure hope so! Mine hasn't grown up yet - still a sprout. 
Thanks, Red. (Do you mind if I call you that for short?) I will try and do the same - maybe someone will get a bunch of the palm trees from seeds we send to the Wild Garden and trade with those who didn't get any!

I am enjoying them already - and you would think since I did it last year it wouldn't have been so "mind-bending", but I guess I just had less time for it this year and was therefore easily frustrated. (I wasn't frustrated too much - just did it enough to know I couldn't keep it up. Hope that makes sense.

I think I did this last year and thought it would be nice if everyone who was able were to join in this year. I think I have bred all the Christmas trees I am going to be able to this year - since I now will be looking for the Christmas Star - so I thought if I bred them, then the seeds would go out into the Wild Garden and there would be a slight chance that there would be more of the newer variants. Can anyone confirm this for me? I was thinking if it is so, we would have more to trade around and more people would get the harder to get ones. (I still don't have a palm tree one - but I have four chances of getting one still.)
I have a hard time telling these Christmas trees apart, but if this is the one you want, please just let me know and I'll send it right over, OK? (I know that doesn't answer your question, but I'm delighted to do it if you so desire. ^^)

It says "Not exactly what i had in mind, but it will do. Now let's look for something sweet." after I got the eggnog for the eggs. And then when I click on the honey it says "This should be sweet enough." but the message is the same when I go back to the pixie - "Not exactly what i had in mind, but it will do. Now let's look for something sweet." What am I missing?

I agree with MiaSkywalker. I think if the percentage of getting the newer trees were a little higher, perhaps many of the people here wouldn't be as discouraged as they are. I got all old variants too, but I don't want more seed slots - I find I barely have time for the ones I have. More slots would just take more of my time, and this is a very busy time of the year, at least for me.
Also, knowing where to go to get the versions of trees you want would be helpful too. As I understood it, the new ones were from the Wild Garden, but here someone says they got a new one by breeding.
One more thing - I would never complain about there being too many flowers/plants! Never! The more, the merrier!
I got old variants as well, but I really like the new one! I hope there are two - I plan on getting them both, if I can! I've limited time online these days since so many things are happening around my house now. I'm sure others feel the same way. I will be on as much as possible to try to get all the new ones of everything!
Just for the record, my burning Christmas tree was given to me - I just remembered that. I wish I knew who gave it to me.
