The game does breed parentless ones; I've run through the pedigrees of all mine and there are several with no ancestors.

I think it's newer players trying to breed Marvels, and not realising they can't - so they dump them and try again,

But the male fern is breedable all year (as far as I know)

Well, I've marked it up in the wiki as breed only - if someone gets a WG one, please let me know ! The poppies can't be as no-one has more than one to breed with !
