I think the reason we can't transfer adults is that if someone ever managed to get your password, they could transfer all your dragons to their own account. At least this way they can't steal your dragons. Your eggs, yes, but at least the adults would be safe.

That's the only reason I can think of. I'm just as glad we can't, even though it means there are certain breeds I will never have.

Elixir, I hope you're Miss Kaya, because I accepted that trade. And I decided to keep your AP egg, because it's a dragon I only had a few of.

Yes, if anyone needs to borrow a fern, just ask, and one of us can lend you one (or a couple) to breed with. I may not breed any this year, so I'd be happy to loan out a few to people who might need one.

I'm glad we're being given so much time this year. It will give some of the newer members a chance to get the older variants, and possibly even some of the bred ones if they have one or more ferns.

Ok, after a LOT of trying and many unsuccessful metallic attempts, I got my Shimmerscale dragon to finally drop another Shimmer egg. I'm offering it as a two-way trade to make sure no one doesn't get it that I don't approve. If someone doesn't have a bronze shimmer and would like one, please offer an egg for it.

The only types of dragons I need at this point (that I know of) are silver shimmers and gold shimmers. If you don't have one, no worries. Just offer a random AP egg for it instead, doesn't matter the breed. Just let me know in a private PM who you are on DC and what you are offering. I think your scroll will also need to be viewable by the public. Although I won't be on for the next twelve or so hours, I will accept the first trade offered by someone who doesn't yet have a bronze shimmer.

Kintara: Since no one else took your silver, I took it. My silvers haven't been breeding successfully for me. If someone doesn't have a silver at all, I'll be happy to give it to them. Or if it has grown up by that point, to attempt to breed another egg for them. But I haven't been terribly successful with that at all lately, even with my purples doing fertilization on all of them.

Oh good, I'm glad you got another, Lyn. Yeah, sometimes in these events things get 'clogged' for a bit, and one of the admins has to fix it. Fortunately, we still have lots of time.

Do you have any more that you can breed, at least? I see you have only two regular ferns; maybe grab a fern seed for your third pot, and it should grow up in time for you to do one last breeding cycle.

I found a few, but I had to keep refreshing until I found them. I don't know if it's just that there are more people on this site than there used to be, or if they aren't dropping frequently enough. They are there, you just have to keep trying.

I hope everyone remembers that yellows and pinks are breed only. If you need those, you have to breed your current marvels with regular ferns.

I agree with you, blobber. People here are MUCH friendlier than on DC. DC people tend to be snobs. It seems like the only types of eggs anyone will agree to trade for are CB or very low gen (when prize dragons). It's like people think they're better than everyone else, that they deserve lower gen dragons than everyone else. The hubris and arrogance astounds me.

I also don't see why EAtW is even breaking TOS; I just don't see why figuring out the formulae is considered to be against TOS. I understand HOW it's breaking TOS, I just don't understand WHY TJ has it that it's against TOS. I think it's stupid and overly possessive. TJ: "This site is MINE, and everything can only be MY way." Very immature and childish.

His get sick all the time, but they never die. It's probably breaking the rules, but when he gets the new eggs and uses them in the news thread, they're going to get sick because of all the curiosity views they get. He has to do something or they'll always die. I don't hold that against them; he's the admin, and he can do a few things like that. But bitching because a fan site figured out good math? That's just being petty.

Yes, that's what I'm hoping - I'm going to keep breeding the shimmer every chance it's available for breeding, and offer the eggs here until everyone has one. There's no reason everyone can't get one of each dragon at least!

And if anyone is looking for any other dragon types (trio, metallic, nebula, whatever) just ask for it here. I'm sure someone would be happy to breed one for you.

I have a nice lineaged (stairstep) bronze shimmer that's my first successful breeding from the bronze shimmer that tawanda (I think) gave me from here. I'm offering it to anyone here that would like it. I have it as a two-way trade to make sure no random person takes it. I would like (but don't demand) any of the new copper dragons (I didn't manage to get any of them the day they released, and have yet to see any drop since then), or a silver or gold shimmer. If you don't have any of those, no worries - just offer a random AP egg and let me know it's you and what you're offering. You'll need to have your scroll unhidden (I think) so I can verify it's you.

I'm returning the love that was given me. I hope we can all get shimmers and rares this way.

Speaking of which, does anyone need a gold or silver? I don't have any bred right now, but I can attempt to breed mine again if anyone wants one. They don't have nice lineages, but the dragons themselves are beautiful enough that I personally don't care.

Mine have gotten enough to hatch. I've been grabbing CBs from the AP recently. (There seem to be a lot of them there - commons, but I'm trying to catch up on those because I never bothered getting many of them before.) Yeah, I have to sift through lots with terrible lineages, but it's worth it to get a couple of CBs that will hatch in 3-4 hours. But I do post to multiple hatcheries, not just EAtW.

It's possible that TJ changed some coding specifically to spike Exterminas' wheels. I don't know how possible that is, so it's just speculation. But maybe that's why you aren't getting as many views now.

TJ was upset because EATW did something kind for people, and worked harder (added extra code) to help people from getting sick eggs? He was UPSET about it? You know, I always suspected that TJ was a jerk. This just confirms it.

I think what EAtW did was very cool. A lot more work for that particular admin, but I think extremely helpful to DC players. EAtW has always been my favorite hatchery. I use several others in addition to it, but I prefer EAtW. I've never known it to be down like the others often are, it's easy for users to remove fogged, dead, or grown dragons, and it doesn't lag my computer when I leave it on for automated views. If it makes TJ unhappy, well, I think that's just a bonus.

I don't really care what the lineage is like. None of my metallics have a clean lineage, but that doesn't stop me from breeding them to get more. I read somewhere once that inbred dragons breed eggs less often than non-inbred, so for a while I was trying to be careful about that, but then my experience turned out the reverse. (For some reason whenever I breed an inbred it seems to more often than not give me an egg, where a nice caveborn will be apparently barren.)

I think the shimmer dragons are pretty. I guess I missed the threads where they were gifting them. I've gone once a week or so to the forums, and I never came across those threads. Either I was looking at the wrong times, or I didn't recognize them, or I wasn't going to the right place. I don't know what you mean by community departure board. It sounds like I'm not going to the right place in the forums.

Actually the last one in your post has an (almost) clean lineage, if not for the last breeding. Even though it's a long one, there's nothing wrong with that. The others all have nice lineages that would be easy to continue, too. Nothing wrong with them.

I would be happy to breed something back for you in exchange, if you'd like. I don't think I have anything you don't have, but I'd still be happy to do a breeding exchange with you for lineages, if you want.

blobber - I agree with you about posting links in the forum directly. Maybe it would be better to take a waiting list and then PM the person, so random other people don't take them without our knowledge.

Oh, you have a shimmer? Lucky! I haven't seen any threads where people are breeding them, which has surprised me, since there were so many Tinsel giveaway threads last year. It seems that many of the Shimmer winners just want to sit on them and not share.

I'd offer one of the Hellhorses I just bred, but their lineages are icky; I was using them with my metallics to try to breed those, but got the Hellhorse eggs instead every time. Since they have terrible lineages, I'm just going to freeze all of them as hatchlings, because the gendered hatchlings are so pretty. (Although the ungendered hatchling is just ugly, isn't it?)

If someone WANTS one of them despite the lineage, I'll be happy to give one away. Just let me know and I'll set up a trade.
