Well, technically speaking, everyone has the same number of hours where everything is available. It's just that you have to know where your timezone fits in with their timezone, and I imagine that isn't easy if you aren't in the U.S. It isn't easy for me using this site, for the same reason. :) I'm not even entirely sure which time zone DC is on. (I think it's east coast, but I'm not positive.) This actually gives west coast people an advantage; it starts at midnight on the east coast, but at 9pm on the west coast. That's not an unreasonable hour to stay up for. (Although I always forget, and I usually don't start hunting until after midnight on the west coast.) I have no idea what the equivalent time in Europe would be. But if it's, say, 8am, it might actually be easier; staying up late is often harder than getting up early, at least for me.

I'm not saying that having them only for a few hours, like it was this time, is reasonable. Having them drop for the full 24 hours is better, because A) it makes it not quite as HORRIBLY competitive (once someone has 7 on their scroll, they can't get any more, anyway, and others get a chance), and B) it gives everyone an equal chance, regardless of schedules (work, sleep, children, etc.). Each of the May drops got almost a full 24 hours, and in the past it was always 24 hours. In July I think it was 24 hours as well, but I'm not sure. I think that because TJ gets them automatically, he doesn't understand it from the POV of someone who has to fight with a crappy internet connection, limited hours on the computer, etc. Or maybe he just doesn't care.

Yeah, I noticed that. I thought we were supposed to get the eggs for 24 hours before they went to the regular schedule. This way only the fanatics who stay and look for them exactly at midnight are the only ones who will get the new ones. The older way was better - at least you'd have more in the system before they went to their normal rarity.

Oh, that's right. I forget that TJ "cheats". :)

And of COURSE those are the opalescent. They're the more interesting looking ones, of which of course I caught NONE. (sigh)

At least now I have a better idea of when the monthly eggs will be released, and I can try not to be egg-locked again. :)

He says it's two new egg types, so I think both opalescents are considered the same type, somehow. They don't seem to specifically be alts, though - I think it's like the copper dragons that came out in May.

I've gotten four of the reds, but I never even saw the opalescents in any of the caves.

I was unfortunately egg-locked until a little while ago; I have two of the blue eggs with red speckles, none of the others. DC's site is VERY laggy right now, even with images turned off. I *think* the ones I have are the eggs that move biomes, and that I now need to haunt the alpine biome. I'm still hunting - hopefully I can find one. :)

The seeds you see in the wild garden are random, but there are far more available to get. Some seeds are seasonal, also. If you aren't happy with the seeds you see in a click, just click "Wild Garden" again and it refreshes the page with different seeds.

As for how many are available... there's a thread under Site Discussion (I think) that lists the full compendium. There's also a Flower Game Wiki that shows all the seeds and all the breeds.

Why breed seeds? Well, there are some flower variants that are breed-only; that is, if you only ever get wild seeds from the garden, they won't ever become that variant. You will have to breed some of your grown plants together to have a shot at the breed-only variants. Many of the holiday plants have breed-only variants, for instance, which means you usually won't be able to get those until your second year on the site.

There are two ways to visit another garden.
    1) Click a link in someone's signature, if they have a link to their garden.
    2) Go to the link for your own garden, and change the garden number at the top to a different number. This will lead you to a different garden, although you won't know whose it is until you go there.

I'm not sure when you get your atrium. I think it's after you've raised to adult a certain number of plants, but I don't know the exact number. I can't remember when you get the wintergarden, or what you have to do to get it.

Looks like it has hatched. :)

Btw, I'm wondering if people might want to post wishlists here. I would be willing to breed dragons for people, but I don't know what people might want. I would be happy to breed any of my dragons and give offspring to anyone here, so does everyone think that's OK?

It shows the time, but for me, at least, it's showing my local time. I think froglady is more interested in knowing what date/time it currently is in Germany, because that affects when the holidays begin and end. There are online converters, but I think there is usually a way to have something like that on a site as well.

Although, something to consider - the holidays don't turn off and on automatically (at least, in the past they didn't), so many times they actually end a little later than the stated date. (Usually only by a few hours or half a day, but still, it gives us a slightly longer opportunity.)
The date/time stamp on the seeds/seedlings would be useful, especially in these events, because then we would be better able to estimate when they are going to grow up. Many times I will see that I picked up a seed on X date, but was it in the wee hours of the morning? Or in the afternoon? Or late that night? I tend to check mine multiple times a day to make sure they are watered, so I usually see within a couple of hours if a seed has grown up, but not everyone has that opportunity.
