idril: Will try AP next time! But I don't know how to incubate, is that the method Mia described?

Oh! I wasn't clear; what an "incubate" does is knock off a day of the time of an egg. So if the egg says it will hatch in 5 days, 6 hours, for instance, then it will change to saying 4 days, 6 hours. I have learned NOT to incubate an egg until it is down to 6 days, 0 hours, AT THE MOST. Otherwise what happens (particularly with EATW) is that the hatchery thinks your egg is OK with getting more views (and it's really not - it IS still under a day old) and throws more views at it. I got a few sick eggs this way until I realized it's better to wait until the 6 day mark passed before incubating. And often I wait until the "big hole" appears, usually right after the 5 day mark, in which case your egg changes to below 4 days and then instantly hatches.

Btw, if you have trouble getting certain breeds (some breeds are harder to get than others, and some breeds impossible, they can only be gotten through breeding, like tinsels and shimmers), just ask here, and we can breed you some. Many of us are happy to breed dragons for other people. Just give us a few days, though; many times we're egg-locked and have to wait for our current batch to hatch before we can breed you some eggs. :)

Btw, the more adult dragons you have on your scroll, the more eggs you're allowed to carry. The maximum is 7 eggs if you have a gold trophy. You earn the trophies by raising dragons, so just keep doing it. :)

Doctor Who is GREAT stuff. I started watching that series in college, in the 80s. Some of the oldest episodes are black and white. Unfortunately, there was a fire at the BBC fifteen a decade or two back, and many of the older episodes were lost. While at the time it was considered "illegal" to copy episodes, the BBC was so desperate to get the footage back that they paid people to give them any illegal copies they had made. They got many episodes back, but the series had been going on for over 20 years then, and many episodes are now permanently lost. So some of the episodes I saw in the 80s I'll never be able to see again. There are some episodes they've re-released where they have gaps, and in the gaps they've put stills with the audio in it. (For some reason most of the audio wasn't destroyed. Perhaps they stored that elsewhere, I don't know.)

The newer seasons are really good, too. Unfortunately, the only episode my sister ever watched - and she managed to catch this episode twice - was Blink. That episode scared me so much (both times that I watched it) that I had to sleep with a light on for two months! And I'm not kidding about that, really. :)

Btw, Wrede is pronounced "Reedy". I didn't know that, and for many years I pronounced it "Reed".

I generally put my eggs only in one hatchery until they're at the 6 days 0 hours mark. The hatchery I use for those eggs is a pretty low-volume one so doesn't cause problems.

After they hit 6 days 0 hours but NO SOONER (that is, it can't say 6 days 1 hour) I put them in about three more hatcheries. Then once they hit 5 days or slightly under, I use a red dragon to incubate them, which will generally cause them to hatch immediately.

The timing may take a while to get down, though. Generally, it may be a good idea at first not to put them in any hatcheries at all for the first day. My niece used to wait until they reached the 4 day mark to put them in ANY hatchery, and she always put them in ERs. So there are really many ways to do it.

The problem I find with the DC version and that I'd find with any image version is that I can't use my patterns. I'm using a binary system to solve this (which is similar to what Shelybear mentioned in one post), and without numbers I wouldn't be able to see how the patterns should flow.

You wish there were MORE Flynx books? You do realize he wrote 14 or 15 of them, right? :) I've got the entire series on audiobook, and the reader is fantastic. I love that series almost as much as I do both the Riddlemaster and Belgariad series. :)

Yes, Pern was fun. I got a bit soured on it with some of Anne McCaffrey's attitudes right before she passed away. I will still read the books, I just have to deliberately ignore what her personality was like towards her fans. (She was NOT very nice towards her fans at the end.)

Seriously, though, if like high fantasy and you've never read anything by Patricia Wrede you MUST read some of her stuff. Some of her books are out of print and hard to find (and expensive), but the Enchanted Forest Chronicles are not. I read EFC in almost the reverse chronological order, because that's the way she wrote them. She actually wrote the third book first, then went back and wrote the first two books. She realized that some of the characters she had only touched on briefly in that book were just too intriguing and had to have more written about them. But that series is more tongue in cheek than most of her works. The books of hers that are very hard to find are fantastic; I think most of them are in the same fantasy universe, but aren't necessarily related titles. (A few are, but you can read one without reading the others, and although you may not know the entire backstory, it doesn't make the story difficult to understand. It's just that if you read ALL of the books the depth is richer than if you don't.) EFC, however, IS a related series; you can read book 3 by itself, but you don't want to read 1 and/or 2 without reading all three. Technically EFC is for "young adults" but I enjoyed it; it's light reading that is fun and amusing.

At this point I think I'm going to buy Wonderland on DVD when it's out, so I can watch it all, since I've missed a lot of it. I only watched Once Upon a Time the first season, but didn't have time the second season. Now I'd need to watch the earlier seasons in order to catch up, but my parents - who watch it regularly - say it's not as good as the first season. So I might not.

I don't watch netflix or hulu. I don't know if our TV is set up for it, and I hate watching things on my computer. I buy DVDs and watch those. Then I don't have to worry about wonky internet connections or anything crazy like that.

Hey, maybe that will be Exterminans next game. That would be cool. :)

That game is WAY too addictive! I start it "just for a few minutes" and then discover that over an hour has passed.... :S

Fun game, though. I've gotten up to 1024 a few times, but not quite to 2048. I've figured out a system based on binary. But there's still enough randomness that even if you do everything "right" sometimes it messes you up. That's part of what makes it addictive. :)

Mia, I don't think any of them is breed only since I have all variants without parents.

Well, don't we get one for doing something? That would give us that year's variant automatically. I have two variants with only one copy; those two may be breed-only variants. I don't KNOW that this is the case, but I'm wondering.

Ok, I just did some checking. Last summer someone I trusted told me that the show was canceled and that it wouldn't be on this year. Because I don't watch television I don't look at the TV guide, and because I trusted her, I didn't check. Because of what you said, I just looked at the site and discovered that I've missed this entire season. I'm really pissed at her right now. She acted like she KNEW it had been canceled, and it was a foregone conclusion. I strongly dislike watching shows online (you get interrupted even worse than on TV, the image is poor quality, and my computer room isn't exactly set up for me to sit and view something comfortably), so I'm going to have to get the show in DVD now to catch up on it. That means that I will never be able to watch it while it airs, because they won't release a season on DVD until after the next season is over. It was the ONLY show I watched, so now I am understandably quite irritated with the person that misinformed me.

I watched Wonderland, and I loved it, but they canceled it. I stopped watching Grimm for lack of time, same with the original Once Upon a Time. Never watched Supernatural. I'm sure I would have liked it, but once again; no time.

I don't really watch TV much at all. Wonderland was it while it was on. Once Upon a Time and Grimm were the only two shows I watched during their first season; then I stopped having time and never watched them for the second season. I don't watch anything else at all.

Yeah, AFTER I gave up and picked up 4 seeds from the wild. Just happened to check again and saw them. Gah! Well, I'm glad to have more, but sad I had to trash another seed because you can only abandon 3. :(

I'm not seeing any seeds in the garden. I don't know if it's just that I need to wait a bit, or if it's over.

Edit: You're right, though. Exterminans posted on the 10th and said it would last 2 weeks. That means it should be ending either tomorrow or the next day but not today.

Edit2: It's been six hours and I've yet to see one in the garden. Looks like they ended it early. Can we get some confirmation from the admins about this, please? I haven't taken any seeds, because I'd like to know if I can get more of the event seeds. If it's over, it would be nice to know.

Wouldn't it be cool if we got a little bell that would ring and say, "It's over"? :)
