No, there are no parentless Christmas Stars. They are not found in the garden. They are ONLY obtained by breeding a Christmas tree with a Poinsettia.

If you're asking can you get a Christmas TREE seed from the garden, yes, you can. There are at least two variants of Christmas trees that can only be obtained via breeding (a Christmas tree with a Christmas tree), but the other five variants I think can all be obtained from the wild. There are several variants of the Christmas tree that look almost identical, so be careful before giving any away on the donation thread. If you have two that look the same, and you check the compendium and it appears that the same one is there twice, that means that the two you have are NOT identical. It's easy to be fooled; you have to magnify the page quite a bit to see the difference, really.

Btw, the breeding period for Christmas Stars is not always exactly the same as the breeding period for Christmas Trees. The admins will announce the times to everyone. Usually Christmas Stars come a little after the trees, so newcomers have a chance to raise a few Christmas trees first.

That's right, so that's a reminder, folks - don't forget to stock up on Poinsettias BEFORE Christmas starts, so you can breed and get the Christmas Stars! Because, as I recall, that is the ONLY way to get Christmas Stars. (I.e., all Christmas Stars are breed-only variants - there ARE no parentless Christmas Stars.)

No, I've been able to breed mine. In fact, I dropped 31 bred seeds into the garden just yesterday.

Tree stumps aren't breedable at all, so far as I can see. At least, I've never had the breed option on any of them during this event.

Oh! Just thought of something. Jack-o-lanterns are only breedable with pumpkins, NOT with one another. If you have no pumpkins in your garden, you may not get the breed option. That's why you should have AT LEAST as many pumpkins as you have jack-o-lanterns, if you want to be able to breed them.

Is the event over? I'm not seeing any jack-o-lantern seeds in the wild, although I'm seeing plenty of the other two. I suspect it's because those seeds aren't as popular due to there not being as many variants of either.

We had no announcement this year saying when the event would begin or end. Could one of the admins please post something, and let us know?

    Thanks!

Thank you for asking, but no, she's not. :( She's had to go back to the hospital twice now (after only being home a few days each time) due to life-threatening complications. She has been in for almost two weeks this time, and a few days ago they re-opened her up, because a CAT scan showed that her bones weren't mending. So they went in and did a bunch of stuff to clear up what's going on inside, and they are supposed to open her up again tomorrow to do some more stuff.

My poor mother - I can't even imagine the pain she's going through. And she's 76, so it's not like she can bounce back all that quickly from it.

They started a little on the late side this year, and I think last year they kept them dropping until about midway through November. I don't imagine the drops will end earlier, and often our admins are kind (particularly if we beg!) and will let it last a little long if they feel there's a good reason.

For the newcomers, there are, total, 2 Audreys, 3 Snappy Tree Stumps, and at least 7 Jack-o-Lanterns to get. That's an awful lot, so hopefully you can end up trading for what you don't get. :)

Walkinslow - I love the mint plants in your signature! Is there only one variant right now?

Speaking of... here are a few interesting babies I picked up from the AP this year. I only kept a few eggs of my own; most of the others were abandoned to the AP when I was already scroll locked. I really liked some of the lineages I was finding this year. :)

    Ghost with Tsunami
    Lurker with Tidal
    Lurker with Purple
    Ghost with Gold
    An interesting Pumpkinhead shape!
    A long pureblood pumpkin line

My favorite was the pumpkin head. The two parents are named "We're On A Mission To Make" and "The Largest Pumpkin Of All Time", and I realized the SHAPE of the lineage is the pumpkin!

Has anyone seen any jack-o-lantern seeds in the wild, besides the bred ones? I haven't, and I've searched for them.

If I recall, the event usually starts about a week before Halloween, so we have time to grow jack-o-lanters, and time to grow the Audreys and Snappy Tree Stumps as well. I hope it lasts late this year, since it is apparently starting later.

Oh, that's what you meant! Yeah, I only got 24 items there as well. Some people complained because they only got 22 and couldn't go back to the other areas, but I think the ones they might have been missing were from the food booth and one other.

I don't think you CAN finish the other areas until you find all the items in them. I could be wrong, though.
