Idril: I'm seeing eggs (seeds) in the garden right now. Maybe they hadn't started dropping them, or people were taking them too fast for you to see any.
I hope there will be enough time to get wild eggs AND breed our bunnies. There are some variants that can only be gotten by breeding.

I'm actually hoping one of the admins will answer. They're the only ones who can. I have the feeling it's going to be skipped, even though all it should take is turning on a bit of code that has already been created.
So... um.. are we getting an Easter event this year? We didn't have St. Patrick's day, so newcomers didn't get to collect any leprechauns.
I really hope there will be garden drops. While only breeding is well and good for those of us who have been here for years and have something to breed, it's really disheartening to the newcomers, who don't. Even if there are no new bunnies, there are people who don't have them all, and newcomers most especially don't.

Well, as Alia said, they used to be breedable all year round, you could just only get the seed of their mate. It was useful for creating specific mates for event flowers to match their parents.
But I suppose, since you've made it more random now during events, it SORT OF evens out. But not really. 
Welcome, Iria. Yes, this is a nice relaxing game, without some of the tension of some of the other games. It also doesn't require fast reflexes!
Speaking of, did the St. Patty's Day seeds ever get dropped in the garden this year, or were the plants breedable? We never got any notification on it.
All three gendered hatchling colors are completely different from each other, which seems to imply that these aren't merely alts, but actually different breeds. While they MIGHT be alts of the same breed, it's very interesting that at least the gendered hatchlings are all different! It means that the spriter(s) spent a lot more work on these than normal. 
Speaking of... I was thinking some of us might want to do an exchange of holiday "fails". What I mean is, let's say you got a Rosebud that is second gen, with the other parent being, say, an albino. You might want someone else to breed a CB albino with a CB Rosebud, and give you the albino egg. Then you'll have a mate for yours come next holiday.
Or if we've already bred one of our own CB dragons with a particular breed, we might want someone else to breed theirs with that same breed, so you can have fails with a CB dragon you don't own, and therefore can extend the lineage out further than you could with just your own CBs.
Would anyone else be interested in that?
By "exchange" I don't mean it has to be one-for-one, but just whoever CAN, can make the fail for whoever needs it.
Yeah, I think it's beautiful. But then, purple is my favorite color, so I was glad to get a purple dragon.
Still don't see any art changes, at least in the adult, but as I said, I'm not very observant that way. I just don't tend to take careful note about visual details, unless something is pointed out to me. I mean, I see changes in the adult from the adult that Tazzy had originally made (she posted an image of it on the DC thread), but I haven't noticed any changes since TJ's first hatched.
I really like the new text, too. It makes it very different from past V-Day dragons, and I think that's a wonderful thing.
I hope that eventually the S1 hatchling gets changed, but if it doesn't, it's not the end of the world. It just means no one will ever freeze an S1 version of this dragon.

Oh my, look what I just found on the AP! I'm guessing someone bred expecting to get the holiday dragon (not knowing the breeding is over), so dropped the "fail" on the AP. I'll take it! 
No, I was just frustrated at the difficulties I had because of the abandon/trash limitation. I was on the verge of tears when I encountered it, so a friend of mine - who made a garden and then never bothered with it afterwards - told me to send it to her. It also got her finally taking care of her garden again, so maybe some good has actually come from it.
I really feel sorry for people who are newer, and didn't even have any HoVs to begin breeding with. I remember breeding BHs with BHs the first year I was here, and getting some HoVs that way. I'm betting the percentages for THOSE pairings was absolutely horrendous this year, if the HoV/BH pairing is so bad. That's one reason I wanted to drop extras into the wild, and why I have always done so in the past. I am sad that fewer than in past years got to grab those seeds.
I don't see any changes to the sprites since the last time, either the S2 or adults. But as I said, I'm not always very observant when it comes to artwork, and don't necessarily notice tiny changes. Text, now, text I would notice a change.
I think I want to distance myself from the drama. Sure, the old sprite was beautiful. So is the new one, imo, and I actually like the changes to the description of the adult. It's no longer similar to any of the earlier V-Day dragons. It would have been interesting to have such a unique-looking dragon; now it's not likely to happen, because chances are everyone is going to permanently shy away from the whole deer idea.
I do feel sorry for the artists, whether they did anything wrong or not. This is going to haunt them as long as the site is around. They may have to start over with new IDs, which is hard to do. Believe me on this, I've done it before, when I was being harassed by a stalker. It's hard, it's emotionally draining, and it's depressing. I do not envy them.
So you should use a more intelligent way of abandonning: First breed your seed, and if you got what you wanted then free a pot and pick your plant from the wild.

Except that I did not KNOW there was a limit to trashing. If I had, I would have worked something else out. I also had no idea that my breeding success would be so incredibly awful.
I have no idea how many total that I abandoned and/or trashed before I hit the limits. I know I ended up breeding every single one of my HoVs that I could, the limitation being how many Bleeding hearts I have. I ended up with four HoV seeds, and about four more got into the wild after I had gotten all that I could keep, the rest that auto-abandoned were bleeding hearts. Since I have 36 bleeding hearts I could use for breeding, that's a 4:1 ratio of bh:hov, which means only 20% of my breedings ended up with HoV seeds. You can decide if that's good or not, but I think it's terrible.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but has it always been random? I don't recall having this type of problem at all in past years. I'm thinking the mechanics have changed. That's always up to the admins, of course, but I'm disappointed by it all. I always liked dropping a bunch of HoV bred seeds into the wild at the end, but they would almost all be HoVs, very few of them would have been bleeding heart fails that no one is ever going to want.
Also, every single one of the HoVs that auto-abandoned were picked up within minutes. I checked, out of curiosity, two or three minutes later, and was surprised to see all of them already taken. So, even your few seconds might have been long enough to lose them to someone else. Had I thought of it. Which I didn't, because I had no idea to expect the trash limit.
Oh, so I take it she had a history of doing that? That's too bad.
I agree, I thought those poses were generic enough to be no big deal. Maybe it's more the body shape than the pose that was the issue.
I sometimes think that it's too easy to assume something is plagiarized when in fact it really isn't. I had one professor who insisted that I had plagiarized a paper I had turned in, when I absolutely had not, because he didn't think a student could write a paper that well. This was in the days before the internet, and I had written that paper without consulting anyone or any books. (Other than the book we were writing the paper about. It was a Jane Austen novel, and one of my favorites, so I knew it very well.) He didn't flunk me, but he gave me a D, which seriously affected my grade in that class. I'm still angry about it to this day.
So, I tend to take a slightly different view towards accusations of plagiarism, just because I've been innocent and on the accused end before.
On the other hand, I once saw someone post a fanfic that was word for word from a romance novel I had read years ago, with just the names changed. Now, THAT is plagiarism, no question about it.
Artwork, though, seems to me to be a lot harder to tell. Then again, I am absolutely not artistic at all, so maybe I'm not a good judge.
Ah, I see. I'm not too surprised in either case. The little I could tell about it from the thread indicates that at least one of the artists did some plagiarizing. I'm not sure why or how, though. Rather sad. I don't know why someone would do that.
The original sprites were lovely, but the new ones are pretty as well, at least the S2 and adult are. The S1 does look a little strange, but that doesn't bother me, since I'm not going to freeze any. And I don't know if I would have ever noticed if a number of people on that thread hadn't kept talking about it.
I think the new spriter should be commended for coming up with it as quickly as s/he did. The adult is the important sprite, and that's the one that looks the best.
I noticed the similarity to the solstice. Actually, it might make it interesting to do lineages with, except that both are different holiday dragons, which would take a long time to set up.
I'm only getting bleeding hearts, too. If the breeding period is already over, it has NOT been a full week yet. I am very disappointed. I bred something like seven or eight different HoV plants with bleeding hearts, and got NO HoV seeds.
I think it got turned off early. I can't even begin to express how sad this makes me.
Edit: Finally got an HoV, but I'm still getting bleeding hearts, and now I can neither abandon NOR trash. This is frustrating. Fortunately I have a friend who has an open pot; I'm sending the bleeding heart seeds to her and SHE is abandoning. But this is very frustrating. I suggest that either the mechanic of being able to trash/abandon so few should be removed, or there should be a higher percentage of HoV to bleeding hearts (I got far more bhs than HoVs), or there should have been HoV seeds released to the wild like in previous years.

Actually, I love the purple Valentine's Day dragon. I have no idea what it used to look like, but I think it's lovely. Although, they will have to change either the sprite slightly, or the description, to make certain things match.
I really have no idea what people are talking about on the forums when they complain that it's not "polished". Maybe I don't have as good of an eye as some, but I just don't see it.
I thought it was just me! Yeah, mine should have sprouted by now. I'm getting worried that the breeding period will be over before I can try for more of them.
It changed? Mine still look like a little deer, but mine aren't gendered yet. Are yours gendered? Is that when they change?
I wonder what "unforeseen circumstances" could have occurred. I agree; it does seem a bit odd.
