Friend's List

Recently I requested someone to become my friend and I got this message:

User "(user's name)" does not accept any friendship offers.

I was wondering - I had thought this was only an option for the administrators/moderators, but is there an option to turn off friend requests, and if there is, where is it? I've looked and haven't found anything like that. (not that I want to, just curious)

Ah, thank you, Exterminans! The person I had tried to befriend, sent me the answer too via PM. She didn't know she had it set like that though - just to let you know.

profile > settings > privacy > allow friendship offerings

Could I ask - why don't you allow friendships?
