I have never actually tried it, I just assumed it should work like that. We could test it out if you want.

Sure, here! Do you already have a mate for it?
Thankfully, I learned of it before I tried it. I think it came up on some trading thread on DC forums. On the other hand, that would come in handy if you accidentally mis-influence your egg - just trade to a friend and back and then do it right.

Hey Mia, are you still working on our zig-zag prize lineage? I have this guy (or girl, haven't influenced it).

According to the new info, if this had been public-only voting, Italy would've won (and Sweden would've been third). Interestingly, the jury quite loved Austria (placing it 13th), but the public didn't at all.

Looks like breeding is over. Now I'm gonna wait a few days before making that new thread for the rest of the experiments.

Sweden won, with Russia second and Italy third. Personally I think Italy's the best out of these three, but whatever. Sweden's really good too.
Estonia came 7th, which is good, all things considered. -
Yup! So this is going to take a while, there are 40 countries this year.
-
I just noticed we're well over 200. Wow!

My favourites (asides from the one I can't vote for) are UK and Romania.
All of the contests are live. It's actually a rule that all singing has to be live. Music used to be live too - the host had to provide an orchestra, but nowadays they allow recorded music. -
Grand final right now!
Place your bets. Who wins tonight? -

I probably confused it with another yellow flower then (fern perhaps). I know people told me about bred-onlys back when I joined the forums, but that was two years ago, so I don't remember clearly anymore. I know these:
non-holidays - fuchsia, rose, christmas rose, flaming katy, dandelion, hyacinth, grape hyacinth, bowstring hemp.
holidays - witch mushroom, marvel fern, jack-o'lantern, christmas wreath. Some I'm not sure about if they have bred-only variants or not - christmas tree, heart of valentine, easter egg.If anyone knows any plants I'm missing here, feel free to let me know.
-
I'd like to do all of them eventually. My plan is to start with those that have only one bred-only version and later those with two. Excepting holidays, of course. Next one after fuchsia (or perhaps even during it) is marvel fern, which has two.
I actually need to do some research on some plants that I'm not sure have bred-only variants or not. I think one of the grape hyacinths and the yellow zinnia might be bred-only, but I'm not sure. -
As far as I know it's only the red one. Katys, christmas roses and regular roses should be the only non-holidays to have more than one bred-only variant.
-
Shely, I believe the popularity comes from it being a temporary plant, which makes even regular colours wanted, let alone bred-only variants. My next planned plant is pretty common (fuchsia to be precise) and I expect it to take longer to get a good sampling.

Thankfully I had most of my eggs growing up today, so in the end I have two of each big eggs and one pygmy.
-
I fully support Estonia, of course. We have a really good song this year too.
Other than that, I like Italy, UK, Spain, romania and Belgium from those in the finals; Israel and Norway from today's lineup. It's sad Belarus and Macedonia didn't advance. -
