I know one that's not just about roses: "The gardener's son" by Wild Silk (now called Dhalia's Lane)!
At concerts they sometimes announced the song with the alternate title "Thyme" (which is used as a symbol for virginity).
"When I was a maiden fair and young
I florished in my prime, prime
Till a proper tall young man came in
And stole this heart of mine, mine
And stole this heart of mine.
The gardener's son being standing by
Three gifts he gave to me, me:
The pink, the rue, the violet blue
And the red red rosy tree, tree
The red red rosy tree.
Come all you maids where'er you be
That florish in your prime, prime
Be wise, beware, keep free from care
Let no man steel your thyme, thyme
Let no man steel your thyme."On forum hiatus due to new job (but I'm still playing), may still be found on Dragon Cave forum.
The song that immediately popped into my head was Princess Lily's chant from the 1985 movie 'Legend,' directed by Ridley Scott. My favorite line from it is:
"As his lips met her breath
he went sweetly to death
at the roots of the bluebells
is where he is laid,"
If anyone hasn't seen that movie, it is a true masterpiece. (The directors cut is what I always watch, the theater edition absolutely pales in comparison.)

My favourite song from my mother as a little child before going to bed was the german song "Die Blümelein sie schlafen" Its about little flowers how they sleep at night:
I did my best:
The little flowers, they sleep long ago in the moonlight, They nod their heads on their tiny stems. The blossom tree is shaking, he purrs like a dream. Sleep sleep, sleep calm my little child.
The little birds, they sang so sweetly in the sunshine, they have gone to rest in their small nests. The crickets in the cornfields are chirping: Sleep sleep, sleep calm my little child.
Sandman comes sneaking and peeping through the little window, if still a sweetheart may not be in bed. And where he finds an awake child, he scatters sleepsand into the eye. Sleep sleep, sleep calm my little child.
Sandman out of the room, it sleeps purely my dear, there is even firmly closed already the eyes. It lights me tomorrow; welcome 'the little eyes so pious! Sleep sleep sleep calm my little child.
I know not every phrase is in correct english but I don't know how to correctly translate it. I hope you can understand the text.
